My letter. Feel free to copy.

My 2007 summer television viewing was missing something important. No Rock Star. As the summer of 2008 is drawing near, I fear my summer viewing will again be lacking. I think this show is important for the music lovers and for the musicians out there trying to be heard. This show has brought us 30 of them so far. Thirty. We still have millions and millions to hear. I can't imagine my life without music and I think it's a crime that there is so much out there that I will never have the opportunity to hear. I want to hear it all. A show like this helps me get closer to that.

As far as who the band is, I don't care. I know there are many people out there that watch this show to see the "new" talent. I may have never heard of a guy who I believe to be the most gifted singer and songwriter I have ever had the pleasure of listening to if this show didn't exist. I was watching 2006’s installment yesterday for a bit. There was so much brilliance on that stage. Dave told Lukas Rossi after his first performance, "The fact that I don't know of you yet, is the reason a show like this is so important." That is so true. That is why it is a crime that it hasn’t continued.

These are true musicians. They deserve to be heard. And I am so glad I got to hear them.

If there are more Marty Caseys and Ryan Stars and Lukas Rossis out there, I need to know about them. If there is a problem getting a known band to sign onto the show, know that I don't need the drummer, bassist, guitarist, and whatevers to be already famous for me to watch and I know quite a few people who feel the same way. There is a spectacular band out there somewhere in need of a brilliant singer that we need to hear. I have no doubt.

I hope you will consider future installments of this show.

Sincere thanks,
