Gina “Alone” - I liked it but Carrie Underwood nailed this song.
Alaina “Not Ready To Make Nice” - great song choice but the execution was really lacking. Still like her. Agree with Simon.
Lakisha “Midnight Train to Georgia” - last week was better. I ~actually~ think Paris did it better. I think she looks great.
Melinda “My Funny Valentine” - awesome. She’s so humble and talented. Simon nailed it again.
OMG!!!! AJ!!! I just realized who he reminds me of! Ricky from MSCL.
Antonella “Because You Loved Me”- horrible. She’s so pretty though... Wow. Did she just compare herself to Jennifer Hudson?
Jordin “Reflection” - parts of this were really good and parts were meh. She’s still a middle of the packer for me. I do like her this week though.
Stephanie “Dangerously In Love” - I really like her. I was impressed.
Leslie "Feeling Good" - She's different. ummm.. Is this the same song AJ did last night? She'll disappear with some of these other girls if she keeps like this. yep. Just like they just said.
Haley "Queen of the Night" - good for her for stepping up the tempo. She's hot. I thought she did well if for no other reason than it was fun and so different from last week.

2/27/07 - Top 10 guys
I never watched the results show from last week. I know who was voted off. Obviously. Anyway. My husband is upstairs watching hockey. I was watching General Hospital on the DVR. The episode was over and I saw that Chris Richardson was coming up. So I waited. I saw Brandon and Chris. I am currently watching last week's FNL again. (love that show)
Brandon "Time After Time" - meh. way too boring and safe. It wasn't bad but it wasn't really noteworthy. And aren't these supposed to be noteworthy at this point?
Chris R. "Geek in the Pink" - he is adorable and on fucking fire. ah to be 22 again.
I wanted to post about clone puppy at RTVW and started to read the notes that they wrote about him and Brandon. I stopped though because I'm going to have to watch this again with hubbers in a bit here.

Phil "Missing You" - I really like his voice. Still want him to have hair. Tone. Paula said "tone". Yep. Lovely. I agreed with everything Simon said until he got to the end. I think he's much better than a karaoke singer.
Jared "Let's Get It On" - his parents?!?! ummm. ew. I'm sorry but I can't hear him at all because I cannot stand his face. I'm sorry. What was it I said? evil cartoon villian. I make icky face when he is on my television. *cringe* His parents?!?! Poor Paul was robbed last week. Maybe I'll try to not look at him next week... please don't be there next week.
AJ "Feeling Good" - that? was wonderful! Yay for him! That was a trillion times better than last week! Best so far. I hope it keeps getting better through the night.
Sanjaya "I'm Stepping Out" - ugh. He is so good. I wish he'd sing younger or something. :( He opens his mouth and a song comes out. It's effortless. And he sings this crap. *sigh* Simon said it. "I don't get why you did that."
Chris Sligh "Trouble" - whoa. wifey pretty. Loved everything about every second of it.
Nick "Fever" - even before he started singing, I loved it. How awesome was that dedication to his girlfriend? Lucky girl. Then he stated to sing. Hot damn! The tonal quality or something. That smokey raspy voice. yummy. That song makes me all hot to begin with but with this voice I get a little tingly. nice. "vote for Pedro" Awesome. heh. (as an aside. I bought Shawn a Vote For Pedro t-shirt. It's black. ~Jen, have you seen it?~ I washed white stuff. With bleach. Then I washed dark stuff. Well. There are bleach spots all.over. that shirt. And I won't let Shawn do the laundry because I don't want him to fuck anything up. *snort*)
Blake "Virtual Insanity" - I hate that hat. Hate it. He's definitely got some talents that these other guys don't. I think he's great. I didn't love the falsetto at the end.

2/21/07 - Top 12 Female Performance Night
We are clearly having a girl winner this year. Or Blake. *grin*
Stephanie “How Come You Don‘t Call Me” - already better than last night. I’m quite impressed. Really really liked her. Somebody needs to take the word “pitchy” out of Randy’s brain.
Amy “I Can‘t Make You Love Me” - I liked her. I like how she made this song her own. I’d like to see her move around a bit more next time.
Leslie “You Make Me Feel” - dog walker. My dream job. There’s potential there I think. I didn’t love it. I didn’t hate it. I think I like her though.
Sabrina “I Never Loved A Man” - I had no idea she was pretty. She’s very pretty. Whoa. Pipes. A little too much for me at the end but I thought the rest of it was great.
Antonella “I Don‘t Want To Miss A Thing” - I appreciate what she tried to do with the song. I do kind of like her voice. But it was not good for me.
Jordin “Give Me One Reason” - what she’s doing to this song is not working for me. I don't like her. I have no idea why but I haven't from day one. Her butchering a Tracy Chapman song has done nothing to better my opinion of her. I can still recognize that she can sing though.
Nicole “Stay” - I liked it. A lot. I can see how maybe that was a bit of a mess in places but for some reason I dug it big time. (I'm not motivated to rewatch the performances so I deleted it but Shawn said he didn't think it was that good)
Haley “It‘s All Coming Back To Me Now” - I remember her now! I liked her in the auditions. Let’s see what happens tonight. Hmmm. Didn’t love it. I think she has better in her.

If you told me I had to choose between Friday Night Lights and everything else on television for the rest of my life, I would choo choo choose Friday Night Lights. This show is gorgeous. Connie Britton. Kyle Chandler. Taylor Kitsch. Scott Porter. Aimee Teegarden. Zach Gilford. Remember those names. Every time Taylor shines brilliance, I weep. What this show has done for him is a blessing. If that was the only thing this show has done for the world I would still love it forever. Wednesday is my favorite day of the week.

Anybody watch General Hospital? I've been recording it for a couple weeks. I would watch it here and there on weekends and I finally decided to try to watch it regularly.
Anyway, there are a few actors on here that are a different kind of actor. You know? Like almost they're too good to be on a soap opera. The one that made me think of that is the kid that plays Spinelli. Clearly he can do bigger things with his abilities. He has these scenes with Steve Burton (who plays Jason) and it just looks weird. I love Jason but Steve Burton is very much a soap opera actor.
I looooooove the new Carly. I realize she's not really "new" but she's new to me.
Jonathan Jackson was Lucky. I don't know who this dark haired person is but they call him Lucky. I went long enough without watching the show that it doesn't drive me completely insane but I don't think I'd deal well with them changing actors on me. I'm way to unstable for that kind of thing. So I'm kind of afraid to watch it on a regular basis. What if they change Spinelli? What if they change Carly? What if they change Lucky again? eep.
I've always had a crush on Jonathan Jackson and used too feel guilty because he's clearly too young.

2/20/07 - Top 12 Male performance night
Rudy “Free Ride” (is that what it’s called?) - meh. Just barely average. I agree with Randy and Simon. Corny and not at all unique.
Brandon “Rock With You” - nice. He has a smooth and soothing R&B voice. And he is really nice to look at.
Sundance “Nights in White Satin” - awesome song choice but it wasn’t executed as well as I’d have liked. And? he blinks too much.
Paul “Careless Whisper” - hmmm… I’m not sure if I like him or not. He has a really great voice but he starts to do weird things with words. I don’t know how to explain it. The middle kicked it and then it fell off again. Ryan has really ugly feet. Paul’s feet are nice.
Chris Richardson “I Don‘t Wanna Be” - yay! I really liked it! And! He’s so cute! I don’t think we need to carbon copy Justin though. The dressing the moving and the hair cutting doesn’t have to be identical. But I’m giving him the benefit of a doubt because he’s so cute!
Nick “Now And Forever” - I really like his voice. It’s smokey and he hit a nice falsetto. Amy swooned a little. It was cute. I like her now. Heh. Randy was totally insane on this one. Wow. What? I was hearing something else. Thank you, Simon! “Vote for Pedro” HA!
Blake “Somewhere Only We Know” - I really like him. He has a nice voice. Love the beat boxing. I hope we do see lots of it. Loved the song choice. Unexpected. Ah. Paula agrees. I really like him. Oooh tattoos!
Sanjaya “Knocks Me Off My Feet” - there’s something so natural about him that makes it very hard not to appreciate him. I just love him. He’s like sunshine and cookies.
Chris Sligh “Typical” - I didn’t love it. He should have picked a song that would showcase his voice. Should not be ripping on Simon. That's getting tiring.
I love Simon. He is my crush this year. I said not to let me crush on Simon but it’s too late now.
Jared “Back At One” - No. All over the place. Horrible.
AJ “Never Too Much” - I think they let him through because they were tired of him coming back. Ugh. Paula up dancing around. This show is such a joke.
Phil “I Could Not Ask For More” - He has gigantic ears. My husband would never not be accessible when I am a week away from my due date. Anyway. He seems like a nice enough fellow. If you managed to stay awake through the first 30 seconds, you’d have found that it ended up being really good. He picked it up. One of the best of the night. The best vocal? No, Randy, it was not the best. *rolls eyes*

It looks like I am very off on my predictions. Not surprising. It's too early for me to predict what other people might be thinking. :) I? didn't vote. Please, people, don't make me have to vote this season.
I thought Paul Kim had a bigger following than he appears to have. His fans have done him a huge disservice.
I didn't know Sundance had as big a following as he appears to have. His people really pulled it all out for him last night. Good for him because I think he's better than he has been.
What is it that people don't like about Nick? I thought his voice was very swoony last night. I really liked him. Smooth. *shrug*
Apparently drunk people thought Jared did well. I'm hoping those people don't drunk dial.
Rudy? Was terrrrrrible and is about in the middle of the pack. *shudder*
I can see why people enjoyed AJ. But that same performance could have been sung at a karaoke bar and just as many people would have gotten up and danced. Notice I said "bar". I think the drunk people are at work again on this one. *giggle*

We interrupt this FNL summarizing to bring you my very early thoughts on American Idol. I am sure that I will somehow jinx everybody I mention. It's really too early for me to have any favorites. If I would have had to pick a very early female favorite, it would have been Porcelana or Tammy the pedi-cab lady. Neither of those women made it to Hollywood so what do I know? oh wait. What do I know? I know they are not looking for a refreshingly different rocker-type chick. Thankfully I also know they are not looking for an annoying tiny woman who wants to be Shakira and sadly comes nowhere near.
Alaina – I think I remember liking her during the auditions but I wasn’t wowed by her. I just wanted her to get through.
Amy – I have no idea what this person sounds like. She has a really nice mouth. I remember that. Pretty teeth.
AJ – Who?
Blake – yay! Beatboxing is fucking awesome. Hee! This is one of the few people I remember. I really like him. The reason I think he’ll do well is because Justin Timberlake is VERY popular right now. If teenage girls (and 34 year old women) think there needs to be another Justin, he stands a good chance to make it at least to the final 12. American Idol? I’m not sure. But I do like him. He's pretty well known in and around his area.
Antonella – Thought she was okay. I wasn’t wowed by her. There must be a reason she made it over Marisa. I thought Marisa was way better. Hmmm… I think her name was Marisa.
Gina – I like her if for no other reason than that she isn’t a poppy looking little tart.
Brandon – backup singer dude. I like him. He’s nice looking. That’ll help.

Sanjaya – I’ve loved him from the second he was on the screen. If I haven’t jinxed him right out of the running right off the bat, I’ll be amazed. Final 12! Dammit.
Sundance – I would have thought he was a sure thing from his audition but he was stinko in Hollywood so we’ll see. Maybe Final 12. If he makes it, he’ll take Phil’s place.

I have a bunch of notes on FNL ready to be typed out but I have to go back and rewatch episodes four and five again if I want to do the detailed "summaries" like the ones I was doing. Wow. That's a really long sentence. I love this show like I've never loved a television show before in my life. I tell Shawn every Wednesday night, "Oh my God I am in love with this show." And I tear up when I say it. I can't think of any other words to describe it besides amazing and gorgeous. It's perfect. It has the best actors on television. It has the best writers on television. It has this wonderful camera work. It has the beautiful scenery. I don't know what else people want. Everybody should be watching this show. Everybody should be in love with this show. I'm not saying there's something wrong with you if you don't but... oh wait. Yes, I am. There is something wrong with you if you are not watching this show. Watch this show. You will thank me. I promise you that. You have to watch it like I watch it though. It's like somebody sat down and typed it all out from beginning to end. It's brilliant. The storyline continuity and the character development. The little things that you don't notice on other shows because they don't exist on other shows. gah. Unplug the phone. If you have pestering kids, wait until they go to bed. If you have an SO, explain to them that they NEED to leave you alone. Record it so you can pause it. Record it so you can rewatch it. Record it so you have proof that a show this amazing exists when somebody doubts you that it is as awesome as it is. I, unfortunately, have had to erase them after a couple weeks. As soon as it comes out on DVD, I am buying it. I'm saving pennies and hiding it from my husband so he can't spend my FNL DVD set money on something else like gas or groceries.
Alaina – I think I remember liking her during the auditions but I wasn’t wowed by her. I just wanted her to get through.
Amy – I have no idea what this person sounds like. She has a really nice mouth. I remember that. Pretty teeth.
AJ – Who?
Blake – yay! Beatboxing is fucking awesome. Hee! This is one of the few people I remember. I really like him. The reason I think he’ll do well is because Justin Timberlake is VERY popular right now. If teenage girls (and 34 year old women) think there needs to be another Justin, he stands a good chance to make it at least to the final 12. American Idol? I’m not sure. But I do like him. He's pretty well known in and around his area.
Antonella – Thought she was okay. I wasn’t wowed by her. There must be a reason she made it over Marisa. I thought Marisa was way better. Hmmm… I think her name was Marisa.
Gina – I like her if for no other reason than that she isn’t a poppy looking little tart.
Brandon – backup singer dude. I like him. He’s nice looking. That’ll help.
Chris Richardson – He is very adorable. And... If teenage girls (and 34 year old women) think there needs to be another Justin, he stands a good chance to make it at least to the final 12. Unfortunately I don’t think he’ll make it to final 12 because I don't think him and Blake would both make it but he could and he should because he’s really really cute. *grin*
Haley – Not sure who she is.
Jordin – No. I don’t like her. This means she will probably be there too long for my liking. Probably final 12 at least.
Chris Sligh – love him. He’s funny. He’s charming. And most importantly, he can sing. Final 12 for sure. American Idol? *shrug*
Jared – No. I absolutely hated the way he played up to the camera. This means he will probably be there too long for my liking. Probably will get beat out for final 12 by Paul and/or Phil.
Lakisha – This woman has been brilliant so far. She won’t win but she has pipes, man.
Leslie – I’m not sure who she is. I dont' remember what she sounds like.
Nicholas – He’s cute. It helps. But I don’t think he’ll beat out Paul and/or Phil for Final 12. He should though so I hope he does and I hope I'm wrong about Paul and/or Phil.
Paul Kim – already has a fan base. Final 12.
